Abstract

The symmetry of C60 and C70 in solution is reduced by specific solvent effects, which have been studied in detail by electrochemistry, and electronic absorption and resonance Raman spectroscopies. This review outlines how surface/solvent interactions involving the fullerenes affects their physical properties.
