Abstract

This paper gives an overview of our group's involvement in fullerene research which has been focussed in the two areas of mass spectrometry and production of fullerenes. The early work was mainly concentrated on the observation of fullerene ions in laser ablation mass spectrometry. We have also tried to develop other carbon sources of fullerenes besides graphite. The fullerene work continues and has led us into other areas such as the study of the reactivity of small carbon anions.
