Synthesis of 2D-ordered spherical ZnO films for photocatalysis

ABSTRACT

A novel ZnO film of two dimension ordered spherical structure has been synthesised via RF magnetron sputtering method using monodispersed polystyrene spheres as template. The 2D-ordered spherical ZnO film was characterised by SEM, TEM, XRD, and DRUV–vis. In this work, growth process and photocatalytic ability of the 2D-ordered spherical ZnO film were studied. The 2D-ordered spherical film shows 2.3 times higher catalytic performance than that of the reference ZnO flat (R-ZnO) film.
