1 On page 6 of Queer Criminology, Buist and Lenning use antiquated language to describe individuals who identify as non-heterosexual. ‘Additionally, the use of “redacted” is used as sparingly as possible and only applied for the same reasons as stated earlier-that is, in order to maintain research integrity’ This word is referenced, but redacted and not used in the current book review as I believe the best way to eliminate harmful language is to break the citation cycle and refuse to play into the cyclical nature of systems of oppression.
