Dear Readers,

I am happy to present the latest issue of JSE.

This issue of JSE includes ten(!) regular articles, one Data Science article, and a Datasets and Stories article. In place of an interview by Allan Rossman we present Short Stories, a tribute for former JSE editor Tom Short, who was a champion of statistics education and one of the leading figures in the field, as well as a dear friend to many of us.

The articles in this issue touch on a wide range of topics: from the accuracy of the bootstrap methods that many of us teach to our students, to introducing data science concepts, to designing exercises, to learning about statistical consulting. And you might want to sing as you read the paper about interactive educational songs for statistics.

You will notice that we have something else that is different in this issue. For the first time(?), we are publishing an editorial (written by me) that offers thoughts on the use of hypothesis testing and p-values.

Please consider submitting a manuscript to JSE. You can submit under one of the following three categories: General (which includes the health sciences and data science sections), Research in K-12 Statistics Education, and Datasets and Stories. You can find the issues from this past year, an updated Aims and Scope document, guidelines for authors, and information about the journal and editorial board at http://www.tandfonline.com/loi/ujse20.

Keep in mind that all submissions to JSE are made through the Scholar One system at https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ujse.

As always, I hope you enjoy reading this issue and I welcome your feedback, on the editorial or on any of the articles.

Unbiasedly,

Jeff Witmer
Editor-in-Chief
