Roosbelinda Cárdenas
Roosbelinda Cárdenas is a cultural anthropologist and Assistant Professor of Latin American Studies at Hampshire College in Massachusetts. Her current book project looks at Black political mobilization following the institutionalization of multicultural reforms in Colombia in the context of the civil war’s intensification and the recent peace accords. More broadly, she interested in rights for Afro-descendants in Latin America and social theories of race and racism, social movements, place and displacement, and human rights.
Hiba Bou Akar
Hiba Bou Akar is Assistant Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (GSAPP). Her recent book is For the War Yet to Come: Planning Beirut’s Frontiers (Stanford University Press, 2018). She received her Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley and holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and a Master in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
