It is now 10 years since I assumed the role, initially jointly with Helmut Sies, and more recently solely, as Editor-In-Chief For Free Radical Research. These years have been hard work, but pleasurable, and I have thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the wide range of authors, reviewers, publishing staff and supporters of the journal around the world.
However, with passing time and new commitments, I have decided to stand aside from this role, and pass the baton to Koji Uchida from the University of Tokyo, Japan, who will be taking over as Editor-In-Chief from January 1, 2019.
Prof. Uchida, as I am sure many of you are aware, has an outstanding track record as a researcher in the field of free radicals and oxidative stress, and has been involved with a large number of other editorial boards in the past, so I am sure he will do an excellent job, and that the journal is in safe hands. I will, however, continue to help and support the journal as much as I can, and in whatever form the incoming Editor-In-Chief wishes.
I have very much valued and appreciated the inputs from many authors, reviewers, members of the editorial board, associate editors and publishing staff of the journal over the last 10 years, and I hope that you will all help and support Uchida in the same way, as he takes up the reins of the journal.
Thank you again – and best wishes to you all for the coming year.
