The Wife s Role in Facilitating Recovery from Male Compulsive Sexual Behavior

Abstract

Compulsive sexual behavior is a multi-causal, multi-dimensional problem with major individual, couple, and clinical differences. This paper examines the crucial role of the woman in the disclosure, assessment, treatment, recovery, healing, and relapse prevention process. Ideally, the woman s role is an ally in confronting and changing male compulsive sexual behavior and she plays an active role in rebuilding couple trust, intimacy, and sexuality.
