Article title: Preserving the nuclear taboo after a nuclear first-use event: a nuclear ethical analysis

Authors: Doyle, Thomas E., II

Journal: The Nonproliferation Review

DOI: https://doi.org/10.1080/10736700.2022.2065124

When the above article was first published, the first sentence read as follows:

“In his 2005 Nobel Peace Prize speech, Thomas Schelling offered a sober analysis of the grave dangers posed by the nuclear-weapons programs of India and Pakistan, as well as the nuclear aspirations of Iran and North Korea.”

The sentence initially misidentified Thomas Schelling as the winner of the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize. He was the cowinner of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.

This has now been updated as follows:

“In his speech accepting his share of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, Thomas Schelling offered a sober analysis of the grave dangers posed by the nuclear-weapons programs of India and Pakistan, as well as the nuclear aspirations of Iran and North Korea.”
