Abstract
The electrochemistry properties of adenine on the 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-(2-furoyl)-5-pyrazolone (HPMαFP)-modified glassy carbon electrode were investigated. The modified electrode showed an excellent electrocatalytic effect on the oxidation of adenine and displayed a shift of the oxidation potential in the negative direction with significant increase in the peak current. Under the optimum conditions, a linear calibration curve was obtained within the concentration range 5 × 10−7 to 1 × 10−4 M in 0.10 M phosphate buffer solution. The detection limit was 1.25 × 10−7 M. This developed method had been applied to the direct determination of adenine in tablet samples with satisfactory results.
