ABSTRACT

The prime objective of this study was to assess the impact of monthly repayment system on the healthcare expenditure of the borrower’s household. Primary data were collected from the landless, marginal, small female borrowers of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who were mainly involved in the agricultural activities. Propensity score matching (PSM) technique was used to assess the impact of monthly repayment system on the household’s healthcare expenditure. This study showed that the monthly repayment system failed to create any significant impact on the household healthcare expenses. However, household income and food expenditure significantly increased because of practicing the monthly repayment system.
