State Requirements for Listening in the Curriculum

Abstract

This paper reports an exploratory study of requirements or guidelines for teaching listening in K-12 schools in the United States, as reflected in goals, objectives, and supporting materials contained in curriculum guides and/or English language arts frameworks. It is based on a survey of an 80 percent sample of the states.
