Abstract

The production potential upon various of sand control techniques have been studied on different levels, both at home and abroad. But owing to the complexity of physical simulating experiments, the research is mainly limited to theoretical and mathematical models. By using 3-D physical simulation devices based on different conditions, such as gravel packing, running screen at the pay zone, and fracturing packing, we studied production capacity under different sand control technologies. A 3-D physical model is more realistic to simulate different sand control techniques, and it can reflect the different production capacities quantitatively. Under the same experimental conditions, the production capacity of fracturing packing is the highest, and running screen at the pay zone is the least. By using this model, the effect of sand control technology on well production capacity can be evaluated more reasonably.
