Metrological Analysis by Measurement Uncertainty of Water and Sediment in Crude Oil

, &
Pages 344-352 | Published online: 14 Jan 2015

Abstract

Water and sediment can be considered as the important quality parameters in petroleum specification for processing. Calculation and expression of measurement uncertainty, required by the latest revision of the Brazilian regulations, is a powerful tool to better understand this analysis. In this case, repeatability is the most relevant source of uncertainty. Based on it, a maximum difference between the basic sediments and water content analysis of the exploration/production region and the refinery in order to validate the measurement process is established.
