Abstract
This study investigates the reduction of emissions of a single-cylinder diesel engine fueled with diesel and Di-tetra-butyl peroxide blends by altering the engine load from 1.1 to 5.5 kW with three repetitions. The objective of the study is to investigate DTBP as an ignition improver and to diminish the emission level of a diesel engine. Two concentrations of DTBP (10 and 20% by volume) were blended with Diesel. The observed physic-chemical properties met the standards. As per the emission fronts, CO and HC lowered for DTBP10D90 and DTBP20D80 at all loads. Smoke and NOX emissions lowered depending upon the DTBP concentration.
