Abstract

A dust segregation rate testing system were developed using super‐clean techniques. It is designed to evaluate various livestock feed in terms of dust segregation. Large amounts of airborne dust are produced from feed, animals and other sources in livestock and poultry buildings. This dust poses a serious health hazard to farm workers and animals. Under super‐clean condition this system can monitor respirable dust particles segregated from animal feed without disturbance from the surrounding environment. It includes agitation, air recirculation, ventilation and data collection and simulates real animal buildings.
