The authors detected three errors in this paper after online publication on 18 June 2012. These errors have now been corrected in the version of the file accessible since 8 January 2013. This corrigendum is a record of the changes that have been made.

On the sixth page, the sentence “Recently, this instrument has also been tested and validated in the study of measuring festivals’ quality and visitors’ satisfaction and loyalty (Yoon et al., 2010)” has been moved from the first paragraph of the Research Instrument section into the second paragraph.

On the seventh page, the sentence “The survey was conducted on-site with Chinese visitors at the departure gates of two major international airports in Shanghai (the Shanghai Hongqiao and Pudong International airports) for 10 days, from October 20 to October 30, 2010, during the Expo 2010” has been deleted.

On the twentieth page, the sentence “The generalization of the study findings should also be avoided because this study employed a convenience sampling method and only included visitors outside of Shanghai in China” has been amended to read “The generalization of the study findings should also be avoided because this study only included visitors outside of Shanghai in China”.

The authors would like to apologise for any confusion caused.
