Abstract
On periodicities in the intensity of the ice-rivers and sunspot cycles.
A preliminary report is given regarding traces of periodicities in the intensity of ice-rivers. Examples are given in the first instance from east middle Sweden. In eskers of the De Geer type (oses) as well as in varved clay, one can distinguish under certain favourable conditions two cycles which can be correlated to the 11-year and 70-year sunspot cycles, respectively. One then also has to assume that there exists a physical connection. This question will however, not be discussed in this paper.
An explanation is offered for small en échelon displacements of the Stockholm ose (fig 4).
