Beyrichiacean ostracodes from the Downtonian of Shropshire by Richard W. L. Shaw. The Beyrichian ostracode fauna of the Downtonian based upon material collected from the Downton Castle Sandstone and Temeside Shales of Shropshire is revised. Five species are described, Nodibeyrichia verrucosa, Frostiella groenvalliana, F. bicristata, Londinia fissurata and L. lata. L. arisaigensis Copeland is recorded from the Downton Castle Sandstone. They permit a more detailed correlation with European and American sections. The technique of rubber casting has been used to aid interpretation of poorly preserved material.
