Abstract
Cybele bellatula (Dalman), the type species of Cybele, is redescribed from the lower Kunda Stage (uppermost Arenig-lowest Llanvim) of Östergötland and a lectotype is chosen. Comparative material from Norway is also illustrated. A smooth triangular area on the anteromesial part of the glabella bears a deep pit and is probably a muscle insertion structure equivalent to the median pits or furrows in other cybelines, notably Cybeloides, Bevanopsis and Cybelurus. A new species, Atractopyge dalmani, is described on the basis of specimens from the Upper Jonstorp Formation (middle Harjuan-middle Ashgill) of Västergötland. These specimens were once thought to include the holotype of A. verrucosa, the type species of Atractopyge, to which A. dalmani was probably closely related.
