Abstract
Calodiscus lobatus (Hall 1847) is described from the Lower Cambrian Holmia kjerulfi Assemblagezone (lower Gislöv Formation) at Brantevik in southeast Scania (Skåne), southern Sweden. It is a geographically widespread species in the North Atlantic region, and it has been recorded from deposits representing a diversity of marine environments. The biostratigraphical potential of C. lobatus is briefly discussed, and it is concluded that it appears to be a rather long-ranging species in the upper Lower Cambrian.
