The Scandinavian Journal of Occupational Therapy has had from the beginning, and still has, national editors assigned form each of the Scandinavian countries. These editors are suggested from their countries association, and assigned by the Board of the Scandinavian Journal of Occupational Therapy. Together with the Editor in chief, these national editors are the editorial committee, and since the new Editor in chief started in the beginning of 2007, this committee has met 2 times to discuss the journal.

At the most recent meeting in April, we initiated a possibility to write and submit short comments and discussions on theoretical and scientific topics. The initial title of this new type of submissions will be “Scientific dialogue”. The submissions will be reviewed by the national editors, and comments related to the content will be given and published in conjunction with the initial short paper. We will look forward to this new type of submissions and scientific dialogue.

The new administration of manuscripts is continuing to show more submissions already after the first quarter of the year. We will continue to publish research that has importance for the occupational therapy development both clinically and scientifically. Read in this issue about health promotion programmes, activity-based assessment, cultural-historical activity theory, women's experiences of hassles and uplifts, upper limb hypertonicity and elderly as respondents, sent in from occupational therapy researchers worldwide.
