To the readers of Scandinavian Journal of Occupational Therapy

As the Chairwoman of the Foundation for Publication of Scandinavian Journal of Occupational Therapy, I am delighted to announce that our journal as from issue 1 2008, has been accepted for indexing in ‘Science Citation Index Expanded’ as well as ‘Social Science Citation Index’. This means that the first Impact Factor will be received during the summer of 2010 (Journal Citation Report 2009).

The first Impact Factor (IF) will include citations made during 2009 to articles published during 2008. The first ‘Real Impact Factor’ (meaning a count of citations to two full volumes published), will be released during the summer of 2011 in the Journal Citation Report 2010, and will count citations made during 2010 to articles published between 2008 and 2009.

To have reached such a high level within such a short time is very impressive. It is an honour for a scholarly journal to have achived this high standard, which could not have been achieved without the input from authors, reviewers, editorial committee and the past and present Editors.

With this new guarantee of quality, it is my hope that this journal will reach a wider audience, will encourage more authors to submit articles for evaluation and that the journal will continue to maintain its high quality. Inga-Britt Lindström Chairwoman Foundation for publication of Scandinavian Journal of Occupational Therapy, October 2008
