Abstract

Viola etrusca Erben, an endemic species of mountains of Southern Tuscany, belonging to the ser. Calcaratae Becker, is investigated under chorological and caryological aspects. On the basis of our data, the distribution area results larger than previously thought, extending to Monte Labbro and Monte Amiata. The known chromosome number is confirmed, and the caryotipic formula is reported.
