Kristi POERWANDARI is currently the Vice-Chair for Education, Research and Students' Affairs of the Graduate Program of Multidisciplinary Studies at Universitas Indonesia. She has an educational background in psychology, women's studies, and philosophy. Apart from teaching, she, along with some friends, set up the PULIH (an Indonesian word meaning to “recover”) Foundation, Center for Intervention of Trauma and Psychosocial Empowerment in July 2002. Kristi is the editor of Indonesian Women in a Changing Society (Ewha Womans University Press, Korea, 2005) and has written books on gender issues, psychosocial empowerment, qualitative research, and intervention of violence.
