ABSTRACT

The biosynthesis and the secretion of phenolic compounds from Nicotiana tabacum 1507, cultivated as a free suspension and in the presence of adsorbents (Amberlite XAD-2; Amber-lite XAD-4 and Duolite-701S) were followed, parallel to the cell growth. A possibility was created for enhanced production of certain groups of extracellular phenolic substances, which can continuously be adsorbed and stored on added resins. Amberlite XAD-4, added at the 3rd day of cultivation, increased the yield of adsorbed phenolic substances approximately 6.5 times without inhibition of the cell growth. On the grounds of the researches on identification of the main phenolic compounds it is reasonable to suppose that there is the matter of derivatives of phenolic acids (putrescines probably).
