You may gather from this that I found the BMJ exercise unhelpful to me in deciding what to do regarding Dr Singh and his position on our board. I was therefore hopeful that the review of his 2003 paper might shed light in a dark place. Perhaps I should leave it to readers to decide for themselves if this has been achieved. I should explain that dates have been removed to avoid confusion; the theft of three computers in the middle of this process caused a long intermission for which none of the correspondents was responsible.
