Call for Papers

The International Review of Law, Computers & Technology (IRLCT) and Guest Editor James Griffin are pleased to announce a call for papers for a special issue, entitled “The future of legal regulation: The intersection of creativity, technology and biology”

We invite submissions that concern legal regulation and the intersection between creativity, technology and biology. As society develops, it has increasingly been the case that these areas are becoming ever intertwined, symptomatic of the technological convergence present within the machinic nexus of the State.

There has been an increase in texts looking at the relationship of these areas in law, and so we would welcome new interpretations of these. The focus will ideally be upon the theoretical and regulatory machinic nexus. Works could concern aspects such as:

  • regulation and 3D printing

  • biobanks

  • privacy

  • artificial intelligence

  • blockchain

  • theory of State regulation

We wish to produce a special issue that will bring together central key articles, as a future resource for scholars in the area. The articles will be produced within one issue, due for publication in 2020, after the events of Blade Runner.

The deadline for submission is January 2020. All submissions will be subject to double-blind peer-review. Articles of up to 10,000 words will be considered.

  1. Interested authors should submit an abstract to James Griffin ([email protected]), no later than 1st of September 2019.
