Xuefei Ren is Associate Professor of Sociology and Global Urban Studies at Michigan State University. She is the author of Building Globalization: Transnational Architecture Production in Urban China (2011, University of Chicago Press), Urban China (2013, Polity Press), and Governing the Urban in China and India: Land Grabs, Slum Clearance, and the War on Air Pollution (2020, Princeton University Press).
