Abstract

The Hall coefficient R _H, has been determined as a function of temperature for liquid gallium-tellurium alloys. The results are discussed with respect to the semiconducting behaviour of Ga₂Te₃ in the liquid state, the dependence of the Hall coefficient on the density of states in the strong-scattering region, and the dependence of the semiconductor-metal transition on the concentration and temperature.
