1 AAC: An integrated network of symbols, techniques, strategies, and aids used by individuals to enhance communication (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Citation2004). AAC can include low-technology systems such as communication boards and high-technology speech generating devices (SGDs) with voice output.
