ABSTRACT

This study aims to examine the predictors of work in the tourism career post-COVID-19 considering the moderating impact of cultural factors. PLS-SEM is used to analyse data collected via a questionnaire from 1246 final-year tourism students in the United Arab Emirates and Egypt. Despite the effect of the pandemic on tourism jobs, findings showed that respondent students are motivated and resilient to work in a tourism career after their graduation. However, cultural aspects are negatively moderating the relationships between work intention and its antecedents. Implications for educational institutions and governments are presented.
