Apryl A. Williams is a doctoral student and Diversity Fellow in the Department of Sociology and a research associate at the Center on Conflict and Development at Texas A&M University. Her current research explores media, communication, and digital inequality in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Her other work focuses on raced based differences in social media use among American millennials and has been published in the International Journal of Communication and Information, Communication & Society. She is currently serving as Associate Series editor of Emerald Studies in Media and Communication and as the Communications Coordinator for the Communication, Information Technologies, and Media Sociology (CITAMS) section of the American Sociological Association (ASA).
