The wais-r in neuropsychological practice boon or bust?

Pages 185-190 | Accepted 19 Jan 1987, Published online: 08 Nov 2007

The WAIS-R is discussed in regard to its assets and liabilities in neuropsychological practice. Changes in the test in comparison with the earlier WAIS appear to present both “univariate” and “multivariate” problems which may restrict the utility of the test. Some patterns of performance established on previous editions appear to hold for the WAIS-R, and the emerging actuarial data base represents a clear asset.
