The Ingegerd and Viking Olov Björk Scholarship for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Research

Applications for the Ingegerd and Viking Olov Björk Scholarship for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Research are invited form members of the Scandinavian Association for Thoracic Surgery. The scholarship, totaling 200 000 SEK, is available to applicants who have acquired a medical doctorate or equivalent qualification. The youngest researcher with high quality scientific output will be considered an ideal candidate for the award, which aims to provide facilities for education and research at recognized centers of excellence, in order to promote the development of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery.

Applicant shall present their current research as their ten best papers, listed and in print, and shall provide confirmation of their age and membership of the Scandinavian Association for Thoracic Surgery. With the applications should be appended a plan for future research and the institutions at which it will be conducted.

Applicants shall be made in triplicate, with one set of the ten best papers, and reach: Professor Anders Franco-Cereceda Department of Thoracic Surgery Karolinska University Hospital 171 76 Stockholm, Sweden not later than May 12, 2005.
