Investigation on influence of blending Jatropha biofuel with diesel to improve fuel quality

ABSTRACT

Biofuel is an alternate source of energy which is trending recently for automobiles. Many researches have been done on biofuels obtained from palm oil, sunflower oil, soya bean oil and other vegetable oils. The researches were done to replace the commercially available diesel. The current research is done with a view to study the influence of blending the biofuel obtained from Jatropha plant and commercial diesel on efficiency of the fuel in terms of specific fuel consumption, emission content. The results showed that blending of biofuel from Jatropha and commercial diesel improves the fuel properties.
