ABSTRACT
An approach to realising logic functions using analog building block is explored, with promising results in form of OR and NOR functions being tested with EXCCII as basic building current-mode block. The other functions like NAND and AND realisation is also presented. The proposed circuits employ current-mode operation and show low input and high output impedance, which makes these designs practically useable. The approach is expected to benefit the mixed signal design, without necessitating separate conventional digital blocks. Several possible application areas are thus suggested. PSPICE simulation results are shown in support of the proposed idea.
