I am very grateful to a number of people who helped with various aspects of organising the Future of Journalism 2009 Conference. This is my opportunity to thank them and I'm eager to take it. My editorial assistant Annie Rhys Jones worked incredibly hard and with great enthusiasm on all aspects of the planning and organisation of this conference. It is difficult to overstate her contribution and the conference would not have been so efficiently organised or half so much fun without her efforts. I owe her a real debt of gratitude. I need also to record thanks to Shelley Allen, Kath Burton and Greig Barclay at Routledge, colleagues at the Cardiff School of Journalism, Head of School Justin Lewis, but especially Deb Lloyd, James Clemas and Jon Adams and his technical colleagues for their support in making things work—but also thanks to Jonathan Cable, Ann Luce, Max Pettigrew and Reeta Toivanen who volunteered their time and services to assist in so many ways. Finally, I wish to thank all paper presenters, speakers and session chairs for their contributions, as well as the delegates who attended and contributed to discussion from the floor. We all learned, as well as contributed, a good deal to the two days of very exciting discussion and reflection. Mostly, I need to thank everyone who attended for helping to make the conference such an enjoyable and collegial occasion while offering such high-quality food for thought.
