Inside Housing carried this as its headline on October 2010 when the first details of the new investment framework became available in which associations were invited to cross-subsidise bids for new ‘affordable’ housing at 80 per cent market rents by charging similar rents on a proportion of existing relets and offering ‘flexible tenancies’ with lesser security and through selective sales of existing assets.
