Welcome to the 20th volume of the International Feminist Journal of Politics. It is with great pleasure that we have assumed the editorial leadership of the flagship journal of feminist international studies. We deeply appreciate the work and commitment of its founding editors, Jan Jindy Rosa (Pettman), Kathleen Jones, and Gillian Youngs, and all those who have carried that work forward. Most recently, Heidi Hudson, Laura Sjoberg, and Cynthia Weber have led the IFJP through six years of growth. Their leadership and guidance of this international feminist collaboration have been exceptional.

We would also like to thank Managing Editor Catherine Jean (2013–2017), as well as her predecessors, Jon Whooley (2011–2012) and Anna Weissman (2012–2013). In addition, our warm thanks to Laura Sjoberg and our new Managing Editor, Ben Woolhead, for facilitating the editorial transition with their commitment and attentiveness.

Our Editorial Team mission is to continue to cultivate the role of the IFJP as the leading global source of cutting-edge feminist research on global politics. The editorial leadership team strives to develop a journal whose pages, authors, and readership reflect the full spectrum of scholarly engagement with issues of feminist international politics around the world. We seek to provide a platform for voices from the field that have not found genuinely democratic spaces for expression and engagement. We welcome diversity and difference as sources of strength. Colleagues and students who participate in the Editorial Team and process will enjoy opportunities to learn and contribute. By networking through complementary digital media, we intend to foster wider conversations triggered by the scholarship published in the journal’s pages and to extend its impact. Finally, we plan to engage in a way that also cultivates broad editorial leadership capacity. We hope that members of our Editorial Team will participate richly across roles and propose an editorial team of their own in the future.

We have invited an engaging group of scholars from around the world to join us in this mission and created the position of Editor of Digital Media, Annick T.R. Wibben (University of San Francisco, USA). Our Editorial Board also includes many who have sustained the journal under previous editorial leadership. To this end, we have created a Senior Advisory Council whose members have committed to providing consultation and advice in their areas of expertise as well as on the future direction of the journal.

Finally, in an effort to strengthen the possibility of future editorial leadership to come from anywhere in the world, we have separated the manuscript management (Cardiff University, UK) and financial management (Vanderbilt University, USA) of the journal.

We are grateful for the support of all of these feminists and their institutions. We look forward to working with you over the next four years.
