About the author
Luc Desnoyers is an Associate (retired) Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the Universiteé du Queébec à Montreéal (UQAM), Canada. He holds a PhD in Physiology from the Unviversiteé de Montreéal. His teaching and research activities led him to Ergonomics, working mostly in occupational vision, with interests in field methodology as well as the ergonomics of scientific communication. He was involved in the development and direction of a post-graduate program in Ergonomics at UQAM. He is a past President and Fellow of both the Canadian Association of Ergonomists and SELF, the Société d'Ergonomie de Langue Française.

Questionnaire use would be considered as a (limited) form of verbal exchange; it is usually considered useful mostly in large scale studies where direct verbal exchanges are prohibitive.
