Katie Beswick

Katie Beswick is a Senior Lecturer in Drama at the University of Exeter. She thinks about how performance practices and other artistic and cultural products (visual art, literature, television, film) shape our experiences of the world. Her work often focuses on theatre and structural inequalities, particularly in relation to class. Her monograph Social Housing in Performance: The English Council Estate on and off Stage (Bloomsbury 2019) explores representations of council estates in news media, film, television, music video and theatre.
