Hilary Bedder gained her PhD from Anglia Ruskin Univeristy in 2023 with a thesis that examines the ontological and philosophical plant in the work of Thomas Hardy and Olive Schreiner. Her work on Olive Schreiner has been published in English in Africa and she has a chapter on Thomas Hardy in the forthcoming The Nineteenth-Century Present: Literary Responses to Historicity with Manchester University Press.
