Corrigendum

Page 148 | Published online: 06 Nov 2012
This article refers to:
Community perceptions of REDD+: a case study from Papua New Guinea

Matthew Leggett & Heather Lovell, 2012, ‘Community perceptions of REDD+: A case study from Papua New Guinea’, Climate Policy, 12(1), 115–134, January 2012. doi: 10.1080/14693062.2011.579317

The authors refer in the text to a stakeholder consultation on REDD+ that was conducted by a local organization, contracted by South Pole Carbon Asset Management and the Office of Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability. This consultation process was intended to contribute towards satisfying the requirements for stakeholder consultation stipulated by the Voluntary Carbon Standard and the Climate Community and Biodiversity Alliance standard.

This information was originally collected and corroborated through a series of interviews with both communities and government agencies. However, since publication, South Pole Carbon Asset Management has provided the authors with evidence to demonstrate that there was no contractual relationship between them and the local organisation that conducted the stakeholder consultation. It is now clear that South Pole Carbon Asset Management therefore had no control over the quality of this consultation, and bore no responsibility for its outcomes, which are discussed in the article. Although the authors sincerely apologise for this inaccuracy, this corrigendum does not influence the discussions or overall findings of the paper presented.
