ABSTRACT
This video began with a composite image of Miley Cyrus and Duchamp’s Large Glass; as a slut stripped, tongue bare meme, or mème, even. It is a “trash polemic” on the shift from concealed cultural coding to explicit over- visibility in modes of representing the western female body through modernity and the simplifications of binary thought particularly when it comes to man/ woman, subject/ object configurations. It developed through writing a set of speculative statements and perverse assertions concerning the relationship of the physical body to the digital image, that work through ideas of the relationship of the parts and particles to the whole; where the body is imaged. It runs through sets of reversals, inversions, contradictions, absurdities, anthropomorphisms, clichés, riffs and Fantasies.
