ABSTRACT

Under the background of engineering education certification, it is necessary to conduct the teaching reform in order to resolve the problems in the present teaching situation. Based on teaching the course of Experimental Design and Data Processing, the results-oriented teaching reform Goal-Content-Evaluation (GCE) model proposed for the first time mainly includes analysing the graduation requirements and defining the intended learning outcomes as the goal of teaching reform, selecting teaching content suitable for the students’ speciality, and setting up scientific achievement evaluation system to assess the effects. Much improvement was achieved after the teaching reform and the average score is 13.5% improved. Through the teaching reform, the students mastered the experimental design and data processing methods, the ability to resolve complex engineering problems using the theoretical knowledge and advanced software so that they can meet the related graduation requirements. This study should have a certain significance in inspiring the teaching reform.
