When the above article was first published online, errors appeared that have now been corrected:

  • The correct affiliation title of Saturnino M. Borras, Jr. is: the International Institute of Social Studies.

  • The correct caption to Figure 4 is: Centrifugal sugar imports to China, 1978–2016 (1000MT). Source: USDA.

  • The placement of Figures 3 and 5 have been amended.

  • The complete college name of the COHD listed under the Notes on Contributors is: College of Humanities and Development Studies.

  • The reference to Hall, R. (2011) was incorrectly given as Ruth, H. (2011).

These errors have all been corrected.
