Abstract
Some years ago I wrote an article on A secreto agravio secreta venganza, which was printed in Clavileño 9, 1951, entitled “La discreción de don Lope de Almeida”. In it I said: “Todas las citas que hago de A secreto agravio secreta venganza proceden de la edición de Astrana Marín, Madrid, 1945, que es una transcripción del manuscrito autógrafo que se conserva en la Biblioteca Nacional de Madrid”. The word “autógrafo” was a mistake, and I apologise for it. Here are Astrana Marín's words: “Los dramas A secreto agravio, secreta venganza, El mágico prodigioso, Yerros de naturaleza y El mejor amigo el muerto son textos definitivos. El primero va transcrito de la copia original, ms. 14.927 de la Biblioteca Nacional de Madrid …”
