Book reviews have formed an integral element of this journal since its founding, and the stewardship of Glenn Mitoma as Book Review Editor since 2012 has helped define key contours of the field. Mitoma’s commitment to engaging work published by scholars across multiple disciplines and grounded in a plurality of methods has been the hallmark of our reviews. Given the significant increase in the sheer volume of scholarly human rights publishing, he has stewarded our shift toward clustered reviews that are organized by theme. The result has been a dynamic mix of authors from different geographic locations, fields, and at different stages in their careers whose work, when juxtaposed, collectively sparks interesting conversations and, we hope, corresponding intellectual and policy change. Now, as Glenn Mitoma passes the role of Book Review Editor to the team of Sarita Cargas and Sandra Sirota, we look forward to featuring reviews with the same measure of care, insight, and commitment to inclusion of multiple voices and perspectives that Glenn Mitoma has always overseen.
