JUTTA FEDDERSEN

Jutta Feddersen emigrated to Australia in the 1950s. This followed years of turmoil after her family was displaced from their home in what was then Germany, after World War II. Jutta’s work has continued to build on themes of memory and displacement over the subsequent decades. Her book Soft Sculpture and Beyond: An International Perspective was published in 1993. Now in her seventies, Jutta is still an exciting working artist, and lectured at the Department of Fine Art at the University of Newcastle, Australia, for 18 years and retired as Associate Professor.
